God wants us to make good decisions, but our sin gets in the way of us being perfect. God is gracious and forgiving. Even though we don’t deserve it, He gives us second chances. Sometimes we are confused about why God does, especially with people who make bad choices. But He knows what is best, not us! Soon God would give everyone the ultimate second chance through His very own Son, Jesus.

Think of a time when you gave someone in your family a second chance. Share what you remember about it. When were you given a second chance? It goes both ways, doesn’t it?

Dear God, we are so thankful that you give second chances. As much as we try to do the right things and make good decisions, we often fall short of your plan for us. Please forgive us, Lord. And help us extend forgiveness to others in order to give them a second chance to make things right. After all, we can’t truly accept your gift of second chances if we don’t extend it to others. Amen.
